I feel supported in my fitness journey for the first time in my life. Joining UW has been the best investment I have made in myself and I encourage all of my family and friends to make the investment and join, you will not regret it!

Before UW, I was working out independently. I started my fitness journey in 2018 and I ran my first half marathon in 2019. I loved running so much that I made a goal to run one half marathon each year because I knew setting that goal would keep me going when I didn’t have the motivation. However, I became complacent during the pandemic when my college courses got transferred from in person to online and I gained 40 lbs, weighing the most I ever have in my life. I stopped pushing myself to learn how to exercise properly and reach new levels. I craved working out in the mornings because I knew from experience that when I get my body moving in the first hour of my day, I feel my best and I have the energy needed to carry out my responsibilities. I used to set my alarm every morning for 5 am, however I would never make it to the gym. I was lucky if I got my work out in 3 days a week.

One night I was researching gyms while laying in my bed feeling defeated and unmotivated to exercise yet still craving that 5 am work out deep down. After about 10 chain gyms and a few local gyms I came across UW’s Instagram page and became interested. I looked at their content and immediately signed up to take a 5 am class the next morning. I knew I wanted to be a part of UW by the energy I saw on their page. I knew right away when the lights went out and the music turned up this is what I have been looking for in a gym. After doing the 5 am class I signed up for a membership even though it kicked my butt! The energy that was in the gym during that 5 am class was what I knew I needed to be the best version of myself physically. I knew this gym would help me reach my fitness goals, but I had no idea it would make such an impact in my life!!

Before UW, I didn’t really know what I was doing in the gym when it came to lifting weights. I had the cardio down but I only did exercises that I was 100% comfortable doing and I didn’t have a set work out plan.  Since I’ve joined UW, I wake up excited and eager to hit all of my classes. The flexibility in time of classes has been beneficial to me as well because I am in nursing school. After a few months of strictly doing 5 am classes I started branching out to different times of the day and the energy is still brought by the members and each trainer! In the 6 months of being a member of UW, I have become the strongest I have been in my entire life. I have lost a significant amount of body fat and gained so much muscle. Most importantly, I have learned proper technique with the help of each trainer. Every trainer has taught me something knew. They do a phenomenal job of giving cues about proper technique throughout each work out. The environment at UW makes me feel comfortable to learn how to exercise properly which is so important if you’re just starting out in your fitness journey or just getting back into it.

UW has truly been a game changer for me, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. I now work out 5-6 times a week and find it difficult to take a rest day. I love the confidence and self worth I have gained since joining UW. I feel and look completely different than I did the day I joined. The work outs are strength training for my physical and mental health which has carried over into all other areas of my life and made such a positive impact. I look forward to going to the classes, no matter what time of day it fits into my schedule, it’s a nonnegotiable for me. The front desk workers and trainers always greet me with a smile and friendly attitude. I feel supported in my fitness journey for the first time in my life. Joining UW has been the best investment I have made in myself and I encourage all of my family and friends to make the investment and join, you will not regret it!
