I was a very dedicated member of the couch club. In all seriousness, it had been years since I worked out and even then, it wasn’t a regular occurrence. I was turning 30 in 2021 and having some weight related health issues. I had the mental realization that it was time to take control of my body and make fitness a priority.
I had tried regular gym memberships before but would wander around aimlessly for hours and not accomplish anything. I’ve also tried home workouts with little success. I knew I needed a group workout setting but the issue is, I’m very easily intimidated in front of other people. I spent days searching for recommendations for workout classes in Omaha. What made me so drawn to Ultimate Workout is the dark room, choice of trainers, and smaller class sizes. I have absolutely loved it so far; everyone is cheering for you and Ultimate Workout has a great culture of community. I joined Ultimate Workout in May of 2021 and have lost over 55lbs so far! More than just the weight though, I feel better: I’m eating healthier, sleeping more soundly, and breathing easier.
Ultimate Workout means self-love and dedication. It’s helped me focus on being a better and healthier version of myself. Before my very first class, my trainer explained to go at my own pace and to try the exercises but modify them to my fitness level. That class I took many breaks and “Ran” at 4mph for 2 minutes and felt completely wiped. I’m now running 6-7mph for 2 miles, and working on getting my sprint speed in the double digits. I’ve also dropped 4 pant sizes; I’m lifting heavier weights, and I’m trying new activities that I would have never thought I could do before, like snowboarding and rock climbing.
